Super slant nose bulldozer gives full blade visibility

Komatsu’s new 13-tonne D51EX/PX-22 bulldozer offers operators unprecedented visibility of the work equipment. The new machine features a powerful engine with high fuel efficiency, and offers outstanding operator comfort plus extremely low noise levels.

The D51EX/PX-22 features a revolutionary new ‘super slant nose’ design. This makes it the first bulldozer in the world where the full width of the blade’s topside and the backside of the cutting edges are visible from the cab. This unique feature allows the operator a clear view of the working area close to the blade, enabling faster, safer working in many applications that demand good visibility. Furthermore, the radiator and cooling fan are positioned on the back of the machine – so no dust is blown up at the front to obscure the operator’s view.

Providing excellent comfort and protection, the D51EX/PX-22 has a spacious ROPS / FOPS cab. The cab is located further forward than on previous models, close to the machine’s centre of gravity where machine movement is at a minimum. This increases operator comfort and further improves visibility of the work equipment. Moreover, the exclusive Komatsu cab damper suspension isolates the operator from vibration for even greater comfort and a noise level at the operator’s ear of just 76 dB.

The D51EX/PX-22 is fitted with an environmentally friendly ECOT3 high-pressure common rail engine that is fully compliant with EU Stage IIIA emissions regulations. It also includes a next-generation hydrostatic drive that delivers excellent traction even during sharp turns under full load. The ECOT3 engine and hydrostatic drive, together with an electronically controlled CLSS hydraulic system, make the D51EX/PX-22 the most fuel efficient and powerful machine in its class.

A newly designed undercarriage with special oscillation bar delivers a smooth drive and high grading performance. In addition, Komatsu-Topcon machine control systems are available as a factory-installed option enabling unrivalled grading precision.

Komatsu’s proven Komtrax satellite tracking system is fitted as standard.
