PW140-7, powerful wheeled excavator excels in small spaces

Komatsu’s new PW140-7 wheeled excavator offers best-in-class lifting capabilities in a compact package that is optimised for working in confined spaces. With a tight turning radius and short rear overhang, it is perfectly adapted for use in urban surroundings.

The PW140-7 is specially designed to work safely and productively in small areas. It has a rear overhang of just 2050 mm, allowing operators to focus on the job at hand without worrying about nearby traffic, buildings or other obstacles. In addition, it has a short wheelbase of just 2500 mm. This gives it a very tight turning radius for easy manoeuvrability even when space is limited.

Despite its small external dimensions, the PW140-7 includes a very spacious cab complete with ergonomically positioned controls and air conditioning as standard. Its low-vibration design with cab damper mounting ensures a very low internal noise level.

The new excavator offers proportional controls for all additional working hydraulics. They give operators the precise control they need when working with attachments such as rotating clamshells, chain-saws and lawn mowers. By allowing operators to use a wider range of attachments, the proportional controls make the PW-140-7 one of the most versatile compact excavators available.

Complementing its versatility, the PW140-7 delivers outstanding performance. Its powerful ECOT3 engine runs very quietly with low fuel consumption, yet enables high top speeds on both flat and sloped surfaces. Together with Komatsu’s exclusive HydrauMind hydraulic system, it gives the PW140-7 best-in-class lifting capacity at increased reach.

The PW140-7 is designed for easy maintenance with centralised filter assemblies and lubrication. Finally, Komatsu’s Komtrax satellite monitoring system is fitted as standard, simplifying machine management.
