Innovative PZ loader kinematics delivers built-in versatility

Komatsu’s new WA250PZ-5 13-tonne wheel loader delivers outstanding versatility, thanks to its unique ‘PZ’ kinematics. Replacing the WA250-5 and WA250PT-5 in Komatsu’s popular medium-sized wheel loader range, the new loader is powerful, comfortable and easy to maintain. It’s the ideal solution for structural and civil engineering, earthmoving, road construction, agriculture, forestry and timber applications.

With the innovative PZ kinematics linkage system, the WA250PZ-5 combines the benefits of both previous models into one. It offers the superior breakout force at ground level of a Z-bar boom. At the same time, it delivers the high tilt-back force at maximum boom height typical of PT kinematics and essential for handling super-sized buckets. When used with genuine Komatsu pallet forks, the kinematics provides perfect parallelism for easy pallet handling. And it has a low number of connection linkages and bolts, enabling maximum stability and high payload capabilities in any application.

Moreover, the boom has a new ‘see-through’ design that contributes to a best-in-class view of the working equipment. An optional 4-point quick coupler allows the working equipment to be changed quickly and easily, maximising productivity and versatility.

The machine's performance is further enhanced by an electronically controlled hydrostatic drive system, which is easy to use and provides perfect driving performance in any situation. A Traction Control System is fitted as standard and reduces wheel spin, thereby lowering tyre wear and operating costs.

The WA250PZ-5 is very simple to maintain. Large gull wing doors provide safe, easy access to the engine while the machine diagnostics system enables effortless troubleshooting. A reversible fan and wide-core radiator are available as options and reduce the downtime required for cleaning.

Fitted with Komatsu’s renowned SpaceCab™, the new loader is also very easy and comfortable to operate. It offers a spacious working environment with air conditioning, state-of-the-art ergonomic controls and an air-cushioned seat. The SpaceCab’s extensive soundproofing keeps noise levels at the operator’s ear down to just 72 dBA. For even greater productivity and comfort, an optional mono lever with integrated forward / reverse switch offers easy directional shifting while allowing the operator to keep their hands on the wheel.
