New Komatsu Articulated Dump Trucks deliver better performance with lower fuel consumption and emissions

The new Komatsu Articulated Dump Trucks - the 27-tonne HM300-2, the 32-tonne HM350-2 and the 36-tonne HM400-2 - are top of their class in many ways. They offer more power, performance and productivity; are more comfortable; and have greater braking power than any other articulated dump truck (ADT) of their size. Moreover, thanks to their new ECOT3 engines, they also offer lower fuel consumption and engine emissions.
Komatsu’s advanced ECOT3 engine range uses an innovative blend of the latest technologies to meet EU Stage IIIA emissions regulations, while consuming less fuel and producing more power. It enables impressive top speeds of 59 km/h and maximum productivity in any work conditions.
For even greater fuel efficiency, the new ADTs feature Komatsu’s renowned K-Atomics automatic transmission. K-Atomics uses an electronic clutch modulation system to avoid shift shocks when changing gears. In addition, two selectable engine modes allow the operator to match the engine power (and hence fuel consumption) to the job at hand.
The HM300-2; HM350-2 and HM400-2 also offer excellent braking capability to match their power levels. They are fitted with a hydraulically controlled retarder system, and with multiple wet disc brakes that allow safe and fast downhill operation and greatly reduce stopping distances as well as maintenance requirements and downtime.
As with all Komatsu equipment, outstanding operator comfort is standard. The new ADTs feature spacious, ergonomically laid-out operator cabs that are fully isolated from the truck’s body to minimise vibration and noise for the operator. And they are the only ADTs on the market with hydro-pneumatic suspension on both the front and the rear axle - to increase stability and productivity while reducing ‘operator roll’ when the going gets tough.
