Komatsu shows PC350 LC/NLC-8 High Reach Demolition (HRD) at Samoter 03/03/2008
With the PC350HRD/NHRD-8 Komatsu brings the benefits of the Dash 8 range into the specialised demolition industry. This high reach demolition machine gives a class leading maximum height of 23m. The oversized main boom cylinders ensure that the operator always has the maximum hydraulic power available, bringing confidence and precision to his work, even at extreme reach.
The newly introduced wide gauge undercarriage is hydraulically adjustable and gives the machine minimum transport width (less than 3m), while retaining a maximum stability width of 3.9m for work. The PC350 HRD can also be specified with standard width, Long Carriage (LC) or with Narrow width, Long Carriage (NLC)
Like all machines in the Dash 8 range, the PC350HRD-8 is fitted with Komtrax, Komatsu’s Satellite Monitoring System. Machine data is easily accessible over the internet and allows owners or fleet managers to view the machines location, performance and service requirements. Komtrax can even help secure equipment, and will email the owner or fleet manager when a machine shows a caution alert or if it is activated outside an engine lock period.
Designed to offer total safety for both the operator and people around the machine, the PC350HRD-8 features Komatsu’s unique roll-over cab, specifically developed for hydraulic excavators. The ISO10262 Level 2 FOPS guard system now includes a side hinged front guard, allowing the operator easy access for periodic windscreen cleaning. As standard, the cab is fitted with a roof wiper and can tilt from 0-30 degrees to allow the operator a comfortable and easy view of the work tool.
With its standard heated air suspension seat, the cab also provides a fantastic comfortable and quiet working environment. The exceptionally low noise at the operator's ear helps him to work longer and more productively. Standard on the PC350HRD-8 is the largest full colour monitor panel on the market. This ergonomic finger tip controlled operating panel allows easy access to work modes, cab-climate control and a full colour image from the rear mounted camera.
The machine is fitted with a three section boom. The Komatsu-developed and tested
boom-change system allows the machine to be reconfigured from High reach to medium and low reach demolition or to dig configuration allowing minimum disruption to the project. Two additional attachment circuits, controlled by sliding proportional joystick buttons, are fitted as standard; and include attachment rotate motor drain lines. The 350HRD-8 features demolition specification undercovers and side guards. There is also an attachment cylinder guard fitted as standard to ensure maximum protection against damage from debris on the ground
The operator can choose between 5 Working Modes to optimise performance and fuel usage when using the machine for digging The Eco gauge on the right side of the monitor panel lets him see at a glance just how hard the machine is working. In Economy Mode, and with Komtrax activated, fuel usage can be easily monitored for maximum fuel efficiency and minimum nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions.
The Komatsu ECOT3 engine meets the requirements of EPA Tier 3 and EU Stage 3A.
The PC350-8 has the Komatsu Hydraumind system fitted as standard, with exceptional combined operation.
